Surprise engagement in the Swiss Alps near Interlaken with photographer John Wisdom. I was unknown to Claire and had to make myself “invisible”. Not easy when there is is only three of you on the mountain.
Surprise engagement during a heatwave. Peter proposed to Claire high up in the Swiss Alps overlooking Interlaken.
I wasn’t known to Claire as this was going to be a surprise engagement. I was doing my best to be a photographer capturing the landscape whilst Claire and Peter enjoyed their picnic.
It was late afternoon and Peter had followed my directions to the car parking area. They followed me up the private road to the location. It was a 10 minute uphill walk.
I was wondering how long their picnic would last. Suddenly I saw them standing up and Peter going down on one knee. I leapt into action.
I was the first to congratulate them. A very nice couple from Australia. Peter has sent me lots of e-mails regarding a suitable location. He was searching for ideas on the Internet and asking for my opinion. Peter wanted a location free from tourists. I did my best to advise him. I constantly reminded him that the weather might be a problem. It can change quickly.
In the end, Peter accepted my recommendation a day before the surprise engagement. It is a good idea to trust me. There are a lot of ideas on my other website on the surprise engagements category – click here.
